Every social media strategy should begin with at least one objective.

Pick goals that are SMART by selecting those that are…

Specific
If your company is new to the market, your major objective can be to “ensure that more people are aware of us.” Change that broad objective into something more specific, such “get [a certain number] of followers” for your social media accounts.”

Measurable
You won’t be able to tell if you’ve succeeded if you can’t measure your progress.
Consider how you can monitor engagement, tally the number of followers you have on social media, indicators gauge progress.

Achievable
You can certainly dream big, but setting an impossibly high standard won’t help your group or your reputation. Instead of setting a goal of gaining 10 million new followers for a small account, pick a quantity that, with good execution, you can actually reach.

Relevant
If your goal is unimportant in the long run, it can be difficult to feel motivated to work towards it. Put your effort and resources towards the goals that are most important to the success of your brand rather than a big list of unimportant ones.

Timely
Every objective requires a deadline; else, you would work on it indefinitely. Set deadlines for your social media goals so you can allocate resources and gauge progress.
